The story of the NMD R1

The 2015 NMD splashed Boost cushioning under a knit sock upper with color-blocked midsole plugs referencing three archive models. Its launch caused lines around blocks worldwide and defined the mid-2010s sneaker aesthetic alongside the Ultraboost and Yeezys. The OG black pair with red-and-blue plugs remains the model's calling card.
