The story of the Air Jordan 1 Low
The low-cut Air Jordan 1 launched alongside the High in 1985 but lived in its shadow for decades, kept alive mostly as a summer alternative. That changed in the late 2010s, when the Low became a phenomenon of its own: Travis Scott's reversed-Swoosh pairs turned it into a grail, and general-release colorways began mirroring the High's most famous palettes. Lighter on the ankle and easier to style, the Low is now one of Nike's best-selling lifestyle shoes and frequently outpaces the High at retail. Its collaboration list, from Cactus Jack to Terror Squad, reads like a who's who of modern sneaker culture.
