The story of the Air Jordan 11 Retro
Designed by Tinker Hatfield while Jordan was playing baseball, the Air Jordan 11 of 1995 paired ballistic mesh with shiny patent leather, a material no one had put on a basketball shoe. Jordan returned to the court in the Concord, wore the Space Jam pair in the movie, and won 72 games in the Bred. Its formal-meets-athletic look made it the sneaker people genuinely wear with tuxedos. Holiday releases of the 11 became a December tradition, with the Concord's 2018 return ranking among the largest sneaker launches ever. Many collectors simply call it the greatest Jordan of all.
