The story of the Nike Air Ship

Before the Air Jordan 1 existed, Michael Jordan played his first NBA games in the Nike Air Ship, and it was a black-and-red Air Ship, not the AJ1, that the league actually objected to in 1984. Nike's "banned" marketing folded that story into the Jordan 1, and the Air Ship faded into trivia until Jordan Brand revived it in 2020 with the New Beginnings pack. A Ma Maniere's editions turned the once-forgotten shoe into a collector's centerpiece. Owning an Air Ship is owning the footnote that started the whole story.
