The story of the Suede Classic
The 1968 Puma Suede is woven through culture: Tommie Smith wore Pumas during his raised-fist salute at the 1968 Olympics, and the Suede became the b-boy shoe of early hip-hop, danced on cardboard across New York. Fifty-plus years of colorways later, it remains Puma's heart and one of the great democratic sneakers.
