The story of the 1300

The 1300 stunned the industry in 1985 with a $130 price tag, the most expensive running shoe of its day. Its cult is real: Japanese collectors treat the JP-made reissues, released once every five years, as horological events. Ralph Lauren reportedly called it one of the most comfortable shoes ever made.
