The story of the Kobe 8 Protro

The 2013 Kobe 8 was the lightest, lowest Kobe yet, with an Engineered Mesh upper that fit like a sock years before Flyknit basketball took over. Its snake-scale graphics and wild colorways, from Venice Beach to Christmas, made it a favorite beyond the court. The Protro revival beginning in 2023, guided by Vanessa Bryant, brought the Halo white pair on Kobe Day and made the 8 the centerpiece of the modern Kobe line.
