The story of the Classic Slip-On
The laceless Slip-On arrived in 1977, but 1982 made it immortal: Sean Penn's Jeff Spicoli wore the checkerboard pair in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Vans rode the movie to national fame. The checkerboard print became one of the most recognizable patterns in footwear, crossing from skate parks to Paris runways without ever changing. Effortless remains its entire design philosophy.
